Magereza is one of the primary schools in Moshi municipal in Kilimanjaro region—the region
where the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro is found. The word ‘Magereza’
means a prison. This school was so named as it is built within the prison compound.

I thank God for the privilege of serving Him through teaching young boys and girls at this
school. I am doing the school ministry, ministering to grade one and two boys and girls—a
total of 217 young children. Oh how lovely these boys and girls are! Some of these children
are not Christians (they do not have a Christian background) but they never miss my session
                    with them.

I thank God for some children from non-Christian backgrounds who have believed and
decided to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. I am very much confident to say
that the use of flashcards in my sessions with these precious little ones has had a great impact.
The children have sometimes made it clear that it is the picture book that they enjoy most in
my session with them! They went further ahead, wanting me to teach them all the lessons.
Might sound funny, but this shows us how young children learn.
