2 RESIDENCES REVIEW, SUMMER 2023
WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING?
As much as 2023 is winding down, our residents
definitely aren’t! Living at Cranbrook Residences
gives you the opportunities to participate in as
much or as little as you like. The beauty of living
here is that we can bring things to you.
Joanna Madej, Fashion Stylist and Wardrobe
Consultant held a Ladies Fashion Event, bringing
an array of beautiful clothes, handbags and
scarves for our residents to peruse. Resident
Kaye Burfitt also turned our Café into a glittery
jewellery wonderland. Showcasing her ‘one of
a kind’ creations to assist residents start on
their Christmas Shopping. Enjoyed Paint n Sip!
Hieu from ‘Art on the Gogh’ set up a Paint & Sip
Evening for our residents. Bringing out their
creativity in artwork ‘One in a Melon’, whilst
sipping their finest wine. Several saying this was
one of the best events they have been to so far.
A full house turned up when Events Deluxe put
on a Trivia Night. The competition was fierce
with some very thought-out Team Names.
Winner of the best named team went to ‘Coffin
Dodgers’.
We held ‘R U Ok Day’ Morning Tea. Everyone
brought a plate of food to share and encouraged
each other to stay connected.
We have had the pleasure of several Guest Jewellery event in our café
Speakers – Mr Gary Raymond AOM talking to us
on ‘Handling Grief’ and Mr Eric Hiam on ‘Tips &
Tricks – What Entitlements you may be eligible
for Pensions & Health Cards’.
I am pleased to report our residents are
beginning to get behind the Table Tennis tables
being set up in the Activities Room each Friday
after Tai Chi class. A friendly competition is
occurring on a Friday afternoon @ 3pm
(completing their workout just in time to earn
their Friday night drinks). Table Tennis is
available all weekend so when the kids and
grandkids come visit, they can have a hit.
To finish I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry
Christmas and Happy & Healthy New Years. I look
forward to a fun filled 2024. Morning Tea for “R U OK?” Day
Warm Regards,
Paula Waugh
