6 COLOURS OF CRANBROOK, WINTER 2018
The Year in Review
The Cranbrook Care Family
William Cape Gardens
Earlier this year the kitchen was closed at William Cape Gardens to
complete some major maintenance work, including the installation of
an entirely new kitchen floor, replacement of wall tiles and repainting.
Our Residents’ time has been occupied with many fun excursions and
outings including Geraldine Turner’s Morning Melodies at the Laycock
Street Theatre, and a very special visit to the Joys of the Journey –
Ken Duncan Exhibition at Erina Heights. In particular this Ken Duncan
Exhibition was greatly appreciated by the residents! This Exhibition
included magnificent photography, shown on a screen. The residents
were invited at the end of the tour to walk through the gallery to see
many more pictures and then were treated to a truly delicious and
generous luncheon afterwards.
Bella Vista Gardens
Both Bella Vista Gardens and Cranbrook Residences celebrated
their official opening earlier in the year on 22 February. The event
was attended by residents and their families who congregated in
a marquee on The Green. Alan Jones, a long-time advocate and
commentator on the importance of security for seniors who are
leading into retirement spoke about the benefits of residing at Bella
Vista Gardens and Cranbrook Residences. On other fronts, there have
been many activities and outings enjoyed by the residents including
the Devonshire Tea Cruise on the Nepean Belle Paddlewheeler
and a trip to Tobruk Sheep Station, overlooking the picturesque
Hawkesbury River Valley.
Bayswater Gardens
We have had a busy first half of the year at Bayswater Gardens. We are
excited to announce the appointment of Eva Ballai as the new Director
of Care Services. Eva commenced with us officially on the 12 June.
We have had some special activities and events, including Grand Kids
Day which was a huge success, with positive feedback from all who
attended. We recently held a VIVID Festival of Light Cruise where
residents cruised Sydney Harbour in style and viewed the beautiful
light displays on show. The residents have taken great delight in the
vast array of activities on offer as usual, including the Picnic at West
Head Lookout, Boronia House High Tea and recently, the Sydney Bach
Society Concert. We look forward to some exciting Winter Series
events to come.
