Equipment

Personal protective clothing Warning Signs

Dusters/Colour coded cloths Cleaning Agent

Labelled Spray Gun Buckets

Health, Safety and Environmental requirements

Wear personal protective equipment.

Use appropriate duster/cloth.

Avoid splashing cleaning agent onto furniture, curtains and floors.

Wipe any splashes from floors immediately.
Do not spray directly onto furniture standing on a hard floor.

Areas must be accessible and clear of obstructions.

Tasks

1 Put on personal protective clothing

2 Assemble equipment and check for safety
3 Place warning signs

4 Dusting
Using appropriate cloth, systematically dust vertical surfaces from top to
bottom and horizontal surfaces with straight overlapping strokes. Re-fold
duster as necessary to ensure dust is not redeposited onto clean surfaces.
Draw dust out of corners and away from edges of horizontal surfaces. Do not
flick duster. Replace duster as necessary
5 Damp Wiping
Prepare cleaning solution according to manufacturers instructions. Using a
damp cloth wrung almost dry, wipe surface using smooth strokes. As
necessary, rinse cloth in clean water, recharge with cleaning solution and
wring almost dry.
6 Washing
Apply cleaning solution using a cloth, then remove dirt by wiping turning the
cloth frequently. Apply clean rinse water and wipe dry with a clean cloth.
