LOTS & HOTS

Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS): Children develop observation, recognition, colouring, and basic
motor skills through simple, guided activities. These form the foundation of early learning.

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS): As students grow, they are gently encouraged to think critically,
analyse visual cues, solve art puzzles, create patterns, and innovate, which leads to deeper thinking and
              problem-solving.

                                          SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL)

Art is a powerful medium for emotional growth. This book includes tasks that:

Ü Encourage children to express feelings through colour and design.
              Ü Foster confidence and self-awareness.

Ü Promote empathy by introducing themes like family, nature, and community.
Ü Support emotional regulation through calm, focused colouring and crafting.

THE 3Es: EQUITY, EXCELLENCE, AND ETHICS

Equity: Every activity is designed to be inclusive—visually rich and accessible to all learning styles and
              abilities.
Excellence: Children are motivated to give their best, through gradually challenging tasks that build
              persistence and pride in work.
Ethics: Through themes that honour nature, community helpers, and shared values, the book fosters
              respect, kindness, and responsibility.

                                                   THE 5Cs OF LEARNING

Critical Thinking: Children interpret, reflect, and solve through visual-based tasks.
Creativity: Open-ended drawing, craft, and colouring nurture imagination.
Collaboration: Activities that can be done in groups support social learning.

Communication: Children learn to express their ideas visually and verbally.
Computational Thinking: Tasks with patterns, steps, and logical flow support early coding and
              reasoning skills.
