the sunlight. The leaves then start appearing. The young plant, called a
seedling, soon grows into an adult plant. In time, the adult plant will start
producing flowers. Flowers will make seeds, and the cycle will repeat.
Air supplies itself to the seed for breathing. Water softens its seed coat and
also changes the stored food in the seed leaves into a soluble form for the use
of the baby plant. Warmth makes the seed active.

Research
Soak a few seeds of wheat, gram, moong, mustard, maize, rice, and

Dispersal of Seeds
Often, seeds get scattered, which leads to the growth of new plants. The
process by which seeds get scattered away from the mother plant is called
dispersal.
