July 16-19, 2017

AASBO offers three professional development courses this summer as part of the association’s
Educational Program curriculum. These four-day courses are open to anyone who has an interest in
school business management. For the summer of 2017, AASBO is pleased to offer several options.
The dates for all three classes are July 16-19, 2017. They will be held at the Casino Del Sol located
at 5655 W. Valencia Rd., Tucson, AZ 85757. Classes begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm each day.

All AASBO Education Classes consist of 32 clock hours of instruction. Enrollees may also earn
community college credit by satisfying the course requirements and payment of an addition-
al registration fee for credit through Central Arizona College. For enrollment and registration

at asanchez@aasbo.org. The following four-day courses will be offered this
summer just prior to the start of the AASBO 64th Annual Conference and Exposition:

Advanced Budget & Finance
This class is intended for Business Administrative and Finance Personnel who have overall financial
responsibility for their organization’s budget and long term financial health. The class will focus
on concepts and issues that require previous experience in this area. Prerequisite: Basic AASBO
Budget & Finance class and/or two years school budget and finance experience.

Advanced Purchasing
This course provides the student with an advanced knowledge of the principles, processes, and
requirements of school district procurement. The student will be provided with an in depth review
of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to school district procurement. The student will
gain extensive knowledge and experience to succeed in a school district procurement setting.

Maintenance & Operations
Participants will be provided with an overview of the responsibilities associated with maintenance
and operations departments and activities.

Classes will be $175.00 and includes continental breakfast. If registra-

tion is received less than 10 days prior to the first day of class, the fee
is $185.00.
