hand increases the air pollution in these areas. However, the existence of heavy motor vehicle traffic in these areas should not
be ignored in aggravating the air pollution and noise production, as these consequences simultaneously have a double effect on
the progression of cognitive impairment and AD. As shown in Figure (4), Districts 17, 18, 19 and 20 are the worst regions for
the long term accommodation of patients. It should be noted that the development of more green space by the government in
these areas helps to improve the air pollution. Furthermore, it is an effective factor in slowing down the progression of the
cognitive impairment. The areas located in the north and northeast of the city, including Districts 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 and north of
Districts 5 and 2 are the best areas with the least amount of the PM 10 and PM2.5 air pollutants (Figure 4). Complete pollution
status of all the districts are provided in the Table 1.

Table 1: Tehran District’s pollution status
Pollution status Municipal Districts
The best 1,3,4,7,8, north of 2 & 5
Good 2,5,6,13
Moderate 10,11,12,14,15,21,22
Bad 9,16
The worst 17,18,19,20
Although avoiding air pollution is not a definitive solution to slow down the progression of the disease, people at risk for
AD should try as much as possible to refrain prolonged accommodation in the districts which have the worst pollution status and
move their residence preferably to the parts of the city where the level of pollution is not so severe. In order to conduct this
research, due to the lack of access to location data of AD patients who live in Tehran, the results of estimating the concentration
