P. 115

After the last two days in water, passing Cape
Horn and as we get ready to disembark in
Ushuaia, I felt so conflicted. My heart was full
from the magical experience from this journey,
it’s overflowing with joy and pride. I feel so
very blessed and grateful. But at the same
time, there is this real and uncertain world
awaiting me from the shore and this creates an
empty cave within me. How I wish many more
people could experience Antartica to awaken
their minds of the beauty and magnificence of
the world which, as its guardians, we need to
protect and conserve for all of humanity. I took
one more long look at the ship before we left
for the airport and gazed at the vast expanse
of the water in front of me and whispered
Goodbye, Antartica. May we meet again!
