Supervised Agriculture Experience
The last circle in the model is SAE. All students in
agriculture class will be exposed to an SAE project.
This is an individual or school based project that
develops a set of competencies for students to gain
valuable employability skills. Students are able to
seek out job shadows, internships, employment, or
becoming an entrepreneur. In the FFA, students
use these projects to gain awards, scholarships, and
state FFA degrees. Students become strong advo-
cates for agriculture through experiences. Students
use The Agriculture Experience Tracker, a digital
record book system to keep track of income, ex-
penses, and skills that students are learning. Proj-
ects are categorized in four major areas: placement,
research, foundational, or entrepreneurships.
