               Phil  is  the  former  editor  of  American  Angler  magazine  and  a  former
               fishing  guide  in  Alaska  and  Montana.  Now  the  editor  of  the  Orvis  Fly
               Fishing  blog,  he  enjoys  fishing  the  small  streams  near  his  home  in
               southern Vermont and traveling across the country reporting on fly-fishing
               developments. He and I edited fly-fishing magazines during the 1990s,
               when  “how-to”  was  important  to  the  readership,  long  before  you  could

               find instruction on much of the sport through YouTube.
                  “The Albright Knot is one of my favorite knots—strangely, because it is
