Doubling your class tippet is insurance when fighting big, hard-fighting
fish. International Game Fish Association (IGFA) regulations allow you to
use this insurance when you’re fishing for records, thereby creating a 100
percent connection between your class tippet and shock or bite tippet.
How cool is that? But you’ll have to master this knot to do so. If you ever
fish for record catches, and plan to submit a record for IGFA
consideration, you’ll want a Bimini in your leader configuration.
