Note: The Orvis Company CEO Perk Perkins made this knot even more
useful with a version called the Orvis Tippet Knot. You use the same
engineering for both knots, only this one joins lines (whereas the other
secures the fly or lure hook). Start this knot by overlapping tippet and
leader lines by six to eight inches. Form a loop as you did above, and
then make a second loop and bring the tag ends through that loop a
couple times, as you did above. Moisten the knot, pinch the tag ends on
the standing line, and draw the knot tight, pulling evenly. Clip the tag
ends.
