"But…" attempted Olav Eberhardt.

"I'll tell you one thing. Go get the firewood now. Otherwise you’ll have to cook
your own food." Upset, and with a bitter twitch on his lips, he stood up and

pulled up the too-big pants, then walked out of the narrow aisle. He slipped into

his clogs, and with the black pea coat around his shoulders, he trudged
disheartened the ten meters towards the woodshed. Inga managed to overhear

he murmured, cursed women, before he disappeared.

Inga was well aware that her father didn’t approve receiving money from her
grandson. And that he wondered how Peter got the money. She did as well. That

kind of money you did not earn as a soldier. In her quiet mind, she cursed the
war. When it’s all over Inga’s father will have customers in the woodwork again.

And she'll have her boy home at last.

Winter’s coming - and in addition to the problems they had before, the cold was an
additional understatement of their hopeless situation. There would not be many

months before the two old had to sell the house and move in to her in the

apartment in the heart of Munich.
Back by the fireplace where a large portion of soup with leftovers of pork and

potatoes had simulated most of the day, the older woman put her in her habit.

And the cold! Overcoming, so her father again got customers in the carpentry.
And she's The winter was on its way and in addition to the problems they had

before, the cold was an additional understatement of their hopeless situation. It

wouldn't be long before they would have to sell the house and move in to Ingas
in the apartment in central Munich. Ellen went back to the boiling souper top of

the fireplace/hearth. She spent most of the day right beside the fireplace.

Cooking and making sure that the house was warm enough. Right by her hard
kitchen chair was a basket with a sewing kit. She felt as long as she could sew

clothes back together and cook, they had nothing to worry about.
