Then he proceeded to clap his hands in order to heat up his body.

"The train arrived unharmed to Rastenburg, East Prussia last night. It is now
completely under German control. We didn’t have to answer fire once"

Jürgen Hahn suddenly woke up. He read:

To SS General Major Jürgen Hahn and the 4th Army.

It is hereby confirmed that the art transport from Leningrad has arrived unscathed
to East Prussia. The carriage is thus safe and operation Action Hermitage is

successfully accomplished. I personally ordered a small plane loaded with extra

food, spirits, cigarettes and a small orchestra to land at the base of the 4th Army
for a day. Then the plane will be escorted back to Rastenburg. Expect it around

                   noon.

Your effort is appreciated. Thank you.
                   Reichsmarschall Göring

He held the paper by the light of the petroleum lamp at the small desk, reading

                   the message twice.

"Look, you succeeded!" uttered Fischer, as he rubbed his hands to get more heat.
"We’ve arranged a small party at the dining hall around 18 o'clock in the evening

if the plane arrives on time. I’ll announce the gathering at the morning session.

Thank you, Colonel Lieutenant Fischer. I’m looking forward to celebrating your
                   success."

For long periods of time, Peter Eberhardt stared straight ahead, as he struggled
to fathom the scene that just took place in the dining hall. It was long ago, since

there had been a hint of optimism in the air. The substantial amounts of whiskey

did it’s job and nearly of the crew was highly intoxicated. The soldiers ate real
Bavarian sausages and plum porridge for dessert. The small transport plane,

arrived late in the afternoon, and was loaded with food rations, cigarettes and
box after box of whiskey and rum. There was at least a month supplies of alcohol,
