PERFORMANCE REVIEW
It is the goal of Big River to conduct periodic performance reviews. New employees
are given Introductory Period Reviews within 90 days after their hire date.
Performance reviews should be regarded as a positive experience to enhance
productivity and growth of the employee and the evaluator. Performance reviews will
be conducted by supervisors/managers and may be performed at anytime during the
year. In addition to these formal performance evaluations, the Company encourages
employees and supervisors to discuss job performance on a frequent and ongoing
basis.
Performance reviews are an excellent method of providing the employee with
feedback regarding their performance. It is an appropriate time to access
accomplishments of short-term and long-term goals for performance and growth. It is
also a good time to set future goals. Employees are strongly encouraged to be open
and honest and conduct a self-evaluation. Performance reviews should promote open
communications and enhance teamwork. The counsel provided by managers/
supervisors should assist employees in developing their strengths and making
improvements in their work. Employees should take the opportunity to provide
constructive feedback to their manager/supervisor. Good performance reviews
provide an opportunity for an open and honest, yet constructive, dialogue by both the
employee and the manager/supervisor. Open communication is essential for the
Employer and the employee to grow together.
An employee performance review and planning guide will be completed at the time of
the review. It should be reviewed and signed by the employee, evaluator and a one
up evaluator. The original will be kept in the employee's personnel file and in the
employee’s Paycor account. Employees can receive a copy upon request.
