WAGE INFORMATION
Each pay period consists of two weeks. Each pay period begins on a Sunday and ends
two weeks later on a Saturday. Paychecks are mailed or direct deposited on the Friday
following the end of each pay period. Employees should refrain from requesting an
early paycheck or an advance on their paycheck.
PROCESS DEPARTMENT NIGHT SHIFT PREMIUM POLICY
This policy applies to all non-exempt employees assigned to the Process and Water
Departments at Big River. Night shift refers to the designated and scheduled overnight
hours of the Process and Water team at each site. Employees assigned to work during
the night shift schedule will receive a premium rate of $3 per hour in addition to their
regular hourly wage. Each location has scheduled night shift hours. Hours will be
designated regular or night shift based on the majority of hours worked for the shift. For
example, if you work 15 hours and 12 of those were during the designated night shift
hours, all 15 hours worked will be paid the night shift premium. Hours worked beyond the
standard 40 hours per workweek will be compensated at a rate of 1.5 times the
employee's regular hourly wage, including the night shift premium.
Employees are required to accurately record their hours worked, including night shift
hours, through the designated timekeeping system. This premium is only available to
employees within the Process and Water Departments.
PAYDAY
All employees will be paid biweekly on Friday for the period which has ended on the
previous Saturday. When payday falls on a holiday, you normally will be paid on the
last working day before the holiday.
If you have elected a paper check in lieu of direct deposit, paychecks will be
distributed by your supervisor. Improper pay deductions are strictly prohibited. Please
bring errors or improper deductions to our attention immediately, either through your
supervisor or to Human Resources. You will be reimbursed for any improper
deductions.
If you are on vacation or going to be away from work, it is not a practice to hand out
paychecks early. So that you do not experience a delay in receiving your paycheck
due to time away from work or mail delivery, you are encouraged to participate in the
direct deposit service that Employer offers. Direct deposit is provided as a benefit to
you at no cost.
