The Definition of a

Secured Courtyard

Therefore, one would not be capable of fulfilling the mitzva with a nest found in a secured courtyard. The
parameters of the definition of such an area are addressed by a contemporary sefer about the laws of Shiluach
Hakein called Shale’ach Teshalach:
