unhealthy interpretation of a significant other,

causing people to have an unrealistic

expectation from the world and people around

them. However not every movie is a victim to this,

movies such as Whiplash and La La Land are two

crowd pleasing movies which do not fall prey to this

trap. Both these movies use the dynamic

connections between two people Andrew vs

Terrence in Whiplash, Mia and Sebastian in La La

Land. They are both able to deliver an unlikely story

in a theatrical way, having this bold line drawn

between the audience and the movie with one

hundred percent consistency is what makes these

movies work.

The ability to tell a story without falling into this trap
