                      POSTURAL AWARENESS






                Posture is the position in which we hold our bodies


                while standing, sitting or lying down. Good posture

                is the alignment of body parts supported by the


                right amount of muscle tensions against gravity.

                Good posture is more than physical beauty. Making


                sure to hold our body the right way prevents

                injuries, muscle imbalances, pain and other health


                problems.




                Our lifestyle has changed over these years, we work

                for long hours sitting or overuse of mobile phones,

                computers and television has caused our backs to


                hunch and shoulders to round. A hunched back

                causes nerve damage on the bent side and


                compresses the digestive system. Over the years,

                many people live a sedentary lifestyle such as lying


                on a couch with our neck bent forward staring at

                mobile phones. This affects our spinal cord and


                gives rise to neck pain such as a bent neck. We are

                currently stuck in the COVID-19


                pandemic, we are locked in our houses that has

                resulted in lack of physical activity. Speaking of


                physical activity, certain muscles are specialized

                to maintain good posture,
