I realised something
today
It was almost twilight, I sat alone on my terrace. I
watched the world spinning around me nonstop. I
saw a father who picked up his little girl, put her over
his shoulders and made her laugh. I saw a group of
kids playing tag on my neighbouring terrace. I saw a
brother tease and fight with his sister, they couldn't
stop laughing even through the fight. I saw a mother
who spent the whole day taking care of her family
finally be able to have a little chat with her friend.
These gave me goosebumps. I felt in those moments
the true sense of tranquility and serenity. Was our
world always so incredibly pleasing?
Then I heard my mother call me, "Namrata, come
down and have your dinner!" In that second I realised
that the world never comes to a halt, it waits for
nothing, no one. I realised that life's too short to
waste even a second. We need to keep going, keep
making use of the time with which we are blessed,
however long or short it may be.
