TEES
Over the years, Hazeltine has built more tees
in an effort to keep up with the evolution of
the golf ball and to test the best players in
the world during championships. In more
recent years, tees have been upgraded and
built closer to the greens to allow players of
all ranges to enjoy the challenge of Hazeltine.
In 2017, Rees Jones helped the club research
and gather feedback from our women,
junior, and senior programs on how they
played the course. The result was expanding
and building new tees that moved many
players from playing at 5,725 yards up to
5,109. This initiative has been one of the most
popular and successful in our recent history. Hole #11 Tee
CLUBHOUSE
Following the 2009 PGA Championship,
plans were developed for a new
clubhouse which would account for the
space requirements of hosting a Ryder
Cup. The result was a modernized
clubhouse with a unique design and
angles. The new clubhouse at Hazeltine
National was voted best in the state of
Minnesota by Architectural Digest in
2018. The top of the clock tower is the
highest point in six counties and allows
visitors to see the skyline of downtown
