Northeast Business Center Building G-2
Owner/User: Trammell Crow NE, Inc.
Location: Bridgeport, New Jersey
Design Statement: Bernardon provided space planning
and architectural design services, as well as coordination
of structural engineering, for a 286,000 SF distribution
building at the entrance of an 1,100 acre Business Center. As
the initial building in the park, it set the tone for the other
buildings that were built subsequently. Because of this, the
developer was very sensitive to the building’s image and
wanted to be sure that the building would have a strong
presence in the marketplace.
The 972 foot length of the building provided a design
challenge. The design emphasizes the linearity of the facade
by using thin stripes and a color change at mid-height. Five Tilt-up concrete was used for construction of the exterior
prominent entrance elements punctuate the facade using wall panels because of its acceptance in the marketplace as
sloping concrete panels, stainless steel column enclosures the material that meets the highest standard for distribution
and 24-foot high curtainwall areas. facilities.
