Location: Broomall, Pennsylvania

Design Statement: Bernardon provided design services for
a new fire station at the former Marple School site for the
Broomall Fire Company (BFC). The new 22,000 SF station,
located across the street from the existing firehouse,
features five apparatus bays with one drive-thru bay,
a training room that accommodates approximately 70
people, a day room with a full-service kitchen, five private
bunk rooms, and a museum that highlights the history of
BFC and houses “The Mack,” BFC’s antique engine. The new
station significantly improves functionality and optimizes
response time, substantially benefiting the community,
its residents, and the men and women who provide life-
saving services for the fire company. Furthermore, the
prominent siting of the new station on West Chester Pike
signals the increased service commitment the Broomall
Fire Company will make in the Marple community.
