Myrick Conservation Center

            West Chester, Pennsylvania

Bernardon teamed with the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance (BRCA) in the adaptive reuse of the historic Browning Barn
to provide classroom instruction and meetings and support spaces for teacher preparation and storage of educational
materials. Symbolic of historic barns in Chester County, the barn has approximately 9,800 SF on three (3) levels, two
            open onto grade.

Overall, the structural elements of the Barn were in good condition. Unfortunately, the exterior walls and roof had
suffered from a lack of ongoing maintenance. To prevent further deterioration and to accomplish the goals of the BRCA,
improvements included the stabilization and repair of exterior masonry walls and the structural frame; new roofing and
exterior siding with thermal insulation and a vapor barrier; new windows and doors; new gutters; and updated electrical
service and fixtures to ensure compliance with current codes.

            Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company

            Unionville, Pennsylvania

Bernardon provided design services for a new 13,500 SF fire station for Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company. The new station
provides significantly more apparatus space and functionality (double-sided bays) than their previous building. The
design also included administrative space for the fire company’s business operations.

The facility was also visualized as a local training center for emergency services personnel and included a training room
            suited for this purpose.

            Twin Valley Fire Company

            Morgantown, Pennsylvania

Bernardon provided master planning and architectural design services for a new 24,500 SF emergency services facility
designed on a small site bordered by a major highway. The new building houses six (6) engine and service bays and
two (2) emergency service bays; a mezzanine, which includes offices, conference room, fitness and storage areas; and
an entry lobby/stair tower on the first floor. The first floor program includes offices, meeting/training rooms, bunk
rooms, recreational spaces, and a museum.
