Residence Inn by Marriott at Village at General Warren
Owner/User: E. Kahn Development
Location: Charlestown Township, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Bernardon provided master planning
and architectural design services for a mixed-use project
including a 128-room suite style hotel and 22,000 SF retail
shopping complex. All elements have been designed to work
in concert to achieve the feel of one beautiful, cohesive
development.
The hotel component was based on a prototype, but the façade
has been slightly manipulated to read as less monolithic and
more as a series of differentiated masses compiled one after
the other and distinguished by material, color, and height.
The use of gable roofs, stone, and similar materials ties the
hotel together with the retail village, and similar trellis work
and exterior lighting fixtures are also employed to mimic the
retail shops.
