Goldcrest High Earth Objective (GEO Project)

          Composting- It's Easy to Do.
Composting is a form of waste disposal where organic waste decomposes naturally under oxygen-rich conditions. Students of
Grade 4 to 6 were asked to bring soil, fruits and vegetables peels. Social awareness was given to students regarding recycling of

waste by composting which helps to manage excess waste, use it in a productive way and protect nature.

          Growing ornamental plants in pots.
Give Green a Chance. Ornamental plants beautify the area of home and offices. Students of Grade 3 and 4 planted ornamental

plants like Money Plants, Rosa Sericea and Cacti. They were also asked to water the plant with the help of spray so that the soil
does not get washed off. Students got a first hand experience of planting ornamental plants, learnt to beautify the place in
small area by using hanging pots.

Bird Feeder- A Partner with the Environment.
The bird feeder activity was an exciting one where the students set up the feeders and shelter around the school for birds. They

went to various corners of our School compound and hung the feeders along with grains for the birds. Students made these
feeders by using waste material like an old plate, box, bottle, grains and thread or ribbon to hang the bird feeder. This activity
helped the students to use the waste in a productive way.

Seedballs (Seed Bombs)- Nature's Way to Grow.
Seed bombing, made up of a combination of compost, seeds and clay, introduced students to vegetation of land by throwing or
dropping seed balls on land. The students of Grade 1 and 2 were explained about the technique of seed bombing and how to

plant the seed in a ball of clay (mud) so that they can become a helping hand to enhance nature.

Basics of grill and wall gardening- Reuse, Reduce and Recycle

Vertical gardens help to reduce the carbon footprint of a building by filtering pollutants and carbon dioxide out of the air.
Students of Grade 3 & 4 were asked to bring waste material like old bottles, boxes and thread or ribbon to hang the pots. The
activity helped the students to use the waste in a productive way.
