CHAPTER EIGHT | Mr. Johnson and Black
Jack
A couple of hours a er the boat takes off, I hear commotion
outside. Jeremy and I head outside the cabin while Dorothy tells
us to make sure they turn it down. Outside I see adults playing
card games in the lobby. The noise is coming from a corner table
in the back. Me and Jeremy head to the back to see what's going
on. I can’t believe my sight. It was Mr. Johnson. He was the head
of the biggest automobile company in town. He was playing a
card game. I rushed to the table wishing, I could say hi. As soon I
reached the table, my elbow hit the glass of water that was Mr.
Johnson’s. I froze in shock. The water spilled all over his new suit,

sudden, Mr. Johnson froze. I did too. Mr. Johnson was Dorothy’s
dad. I didn’t know. Mr. Johnson apologized to Dorothy then gave
me a glare from the door. He saw us. A er, Jeremy and I slowly
crept out. We started questioning Dorothy about her dad.
“SLOW DOWN GUYS,.” she yells at us. We quickly head back out
a er our questioning session and head to the lobby. Mr. Johnson

appears and sits next to Mr. Johnson. She seems like a powerful
and humble person. They play blackjack for a couple minutes,
