CHAPTER NINE | Lucy in the Lost Labyrinth
On the 3rd day of this long journey, Jeremy and I decide to
play hide and seek. Along the way of me hiding, I find a cat. The
collar says, Lucy. I turn down the series of hallways finding a
hiding spot. I stop and choose le or right. I notice the little cat is
following me. I ignore it and turn right. There is a janitor’s room,
so I decided to grab a bucket and push it against the door. I
crouch low and tell the kitten to be quiet. Instead, she purrs as
loud as a foghorn.The cat triggers me, but I stay down. I hear
Jeremy’s whistle that he does all the time a couple of walls away.
A er ten entire minutes, my legs start to cramp. I wonder where
Jeremy is now. I hear faint screams and think I should find him. I
get up out of the hiding spot and decide to go le . The cat is
going right, and for some reason I choose to follow it. We make
many turns right and le . I knew I shouldn’t follow the cat.
Sooner or later, we reach a dead end, and I groan. Suddenly the
cat pushes open a secret door and points for me to go inside. I
am amazed. I crouch low and do a crab walk in. Inside the door, I
found the kitchen that we grabbed sandwiches from a while back.
I know my way out. I rush le then two more rights. I head into
our cabin and find Dorothy on her bed crying. I ask her what's
wrong, and she says her pet is missing. Then all of a sudden, she
wipes away her tears and leaps at me. I thought. Instead, she leapt
at the cat. Then I realized what happened. Lucy was Dorothy’s
cat. A er that was cleared up I headed to the hallways trying to
find Jeremy. To my surprise, he is in the lobby talking to a lady. I
walk up to him, and he is talking about how he got lost in the
hallways. I laugh, and he suddenly turns. “NOAH, finally!” he
exclaims, hugging me. I laugh, and the lady says her name is Mrs.
Olien. We have a nice talk and I see Dorothy playing with Lucy
on her bed. A er our chat, we head back to our cabin and play
