2. TANJUNG ARU (TGA)

Submarine Cable Station

Tg Aru Cable Station are the first phase of
South East Asia Commonwealth Cable
(SEACOM) submarine cable services that
link between Hong Kong to Kuantan
(Cherating) and Jesselton (Kota Kinabalu),
Sabah in 1979.

Moving forward Tg Aru cable station has
become landing station for TM first
submarine cable system between Borneo
and Peninsular Malaysia via Cherating
cable station. The connections are known
as Malaysian Domestic Submarine Cable
System North Link (MDSCS-MDN) in 1994.

The latest cable versions are the Sistem
Kabel Rakyat Malaysia (SKRM) in 2017
connecting to Cherating in Pahang and Miri
in Sarawak.
