Shared Cars
Car sharing is a way of travelling more
sustainably. This could mean sharing the
journey with other people or sharing the
vehicle with a wider community through
local schemes.
Cars use a lot of energy before they even
make it to the open road, an SUV consumes
five times more to manufacture than a
small car does! This sort of footprint is
known as embodied emissions.
Private Car
When using a private car, it often means
fuel is being used to transport very
few people. Though there are greener
opportunities with the development
of electric cars, travelling via public
transport or active travel is a better
option for the environment.
