OPERATIONS UPDATES
Operational Excellence Coins
Congratulations to the following employees
for being recognized with an Operational
Excellence Coin!
Asa Crownover, Superintendent RGS9 was nominated by Sammy Pickjett for
his April General Recognition Coin
Asa always has always been production minded when running an RGS on the CSX. During the month of April Asa
had a 100 unit day, followed that up with a 98 unit day, and had nearly 500 for the week. This is no small feat running
in a joint gang operation and grinding to a grind plan. Asa continues to set a high standard on the CSX for a safe and
productive working environment, not only in meeting the customers’ expectations, but exceeding them. Nice job
Asa!
Matt (James) Bradford Maintenance Superintendent
RG417 was nominated by Sammy Pickett for his May
General Recognition Coin
Matt has been the maintenance superintendent on RG417 since day one of
the machine leaving Hamel. He works extremely hard to keep the machine in
great shape and lead a safe working environment. Matt leads by example in his
safety awareness and discipline, and that is a huge reason why the RG417/
RGS2 joint gang have been injury free for the life of its career. In 2021 RG417
has pumped up their production to new heights with the partnership of the
Norfolk Southern. Matt has met the challenge of maintaining the equipment,
working shorthanded, and keeping the machine in top condition. Great start
to 2021 Matt! James Bradford
Rhett Powell, Superintendent DC2 was nominated by Tyler Beebe for his April
General Recognition Coin
Rhett and his crew continue to deliver a high-quality finished product to a demanding customer. He has developed
his crew into a tightknit, high functioning team that use the knowledge and mentoring he provides to excel in opera-
tional excellence. He has recently received praise from the CSX contract manager about his ability to keep everyone
informed in real time about any situation unfolding that is out of the ordinary. He also used his machine to rescue
TLU2 from being dead on the main after an engine component failure, completing a multi-trip knuckling/de-knuckling
exercise safely and efficiently. Keep up the great work Rhett and crew.
