La Diablesse on the River Bank
He told the villagers about it. Some of them
thought that he was mad and others thought that
he was foolish, but only he knew the great danger
that was coming their way. He couldn’t really do
anything much other than to pray.
One night, a hunter went out to see if he could
catch some manicou for food for his family and
some to sell. He saw a beautiful lady with a black
veil and one foot of shoe. He went up to the lady
not knowing it was a La Diablesse.
