La Diablesse on the River Bank
When Sherry got home, Mrs Rose got quite upset

and decided to punish Sherry by sending her in the

dark, all alone. Mrs Rose shouted, “You just come

home? You go see you and who go wash this
clothes tonight. Go and wash it!’’

Sherry started to cry and begged her mother to
forgive her but she didn’t, so she took her masanto

and went down to the river and started washing
the clothes that her mother gave her.

As she looked across the river, she saw a lady with
a red dress, a black veil and one shoe. As she

looked closer, she saw a cow foot.
