Objective 1: Define renewable energy.
Read to Learn!
Renewable energy is a term used for all inexhaustible
forms of energy. Renewable energy, also referred to as
non-conventional energy can be regenerated or renewed
in a relatively short time and has high potential to provide
an unlimited supply of clean and affordable energy.
Energy sources are either renewable or non-renewable.
Non-renewable energy is the conventional fossil fuels such
as coal, oil, and gas, which are likely to deplete with time.
Examples of non-renewable and renewable energy are presented below:
Sources of Energy
Non-Renewable Energy Crude Oil (Petroleum)
Natural Gas
Coal
Uranium (Nuclear Energy)
Renewable Energy Solar
Wind
Hydropower
Bioenergy
Geothermal
Wave
Ocean Thermal
