UNIT 1
MODULE 3: GOVERNANCE, REGULATIONS AND ETHICS

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

On completion of this Module, students should:

1. understand the functional components within the international financial services industry and
         their interrelationships;

2. understand key issues in the international financial services industry and their impact on the
         global economy;

3. employ a working knowledge of best practices in international financial services management;

4. comply with relevant national and international law, legislation, regulations, safety
         requirements, and professional standards;

5. use the knowledge of the relationship of customer service to international financial services
         management in real world contexts;

6. have a working knowledge of international financial services operations in onshore and
         offshore facilities;

7. develop critical thinking, problem solving, and basic entrepreneurial skills;

8. demonstrate awareness of the appropriate use of financial services for development;

9. assess the ethical considerations involved in financial services and actions to circumvent
         unethical issues/challenges;

10. understand the process of financial services methodologies; and,

11. be aware of skill sets needed in financial services.
