RESULTS OF CSEC and CAPE 2017
In 2017, 21 533 candidates from government, government assisted and private institutions
wrote the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination in thirty-three
(33) subjects of which 56.25% (12 113) were females and 43.75% (9420) were males.
Pass Rates by Subject Entries for CSEC
In 2017, there were 109 273 subject entries which represents an increase over the
previous year with 106 016 subject entries.
Passing grades (Grades I, II & III) were obtained in 66.78% (73 273) of the subject
entries.
Pass rates were higher in 16 subjects in 2017 compared to 2016:

o Clothing and Textiles
o Economics
o Electronic Document Preparation and Management
o English A
o Food and Nutrition

Pass rates in 22 subjects were greater than 70%:
