o Test pieces for Music needs to facilitate the range of instruments students use, rather
than restricted for play on clarinet or piano is was the case this year. Most T&T
                      students use steelpan.
o For OA, the list of SBA topics on page 52 of the syllabus document remained the
same covering the period 2014 – 2018. In 2017, instruction needs to be provided as to
the topics applicable for the 2019 examinations, which teachers are to prepare
                      students for.
o Inquiry is made into whether CXC has considered the suggestion that the students
who enter for CSEC Add Math not submit an additional SBA for Mathematics, since
                      they will be duplicating skills.
                6. Online Submissions: Issues with file size and types, additional responsibilities for
teachers with respect to preparation of samples in prescribed formats and poor system to
track and identify system failures in a timely fashion to verify if submission was
accepted. Missing submissions either SBA or files derived during e testing seem to have
contributed to the erroneous results posted.
                7. E Testing: The meeting with CXC’s representative on E Testing was useful in providing
responses concerning (1) the untimeliness, accuracy and completeness of
communications, (2) Incorrect Username and passwords for online assessments, (3)
Inefficiencies in access to Kits and the assessment platform, (4) Unacceptable levels of
tardiness of implementation of contingencies. However, unresolved issues continue and
have prompted the decision not to participate in 2018. Note is made that even at the
session hosted by CXC at MOE towers, of the failed activity to replicate the assessment
experience. This reinforces the concerns expressed.
                8. CVQ: Apart from the late release of results a number of items are raised: voluminous
paper work to be completed, changing requirements that are not communicated in a
timely basis, difficulty in registration of OS, use of video recordings and photographs as
evidence and inconsistencies in reporting of units of work reported by schools and
                    credited by CXC.
                9. Scheduling: Requests are submitted as per concurrent sessions for subjects within the
same grouping (Business) or similar requirements (TD and GMED) with respect to
                    resource demand.

 Logically Paper 2 should be tabled before Paper 1(not the case with Economics)
 Set and communicate criteria for positioning certain subjects early in the timetable.
 Spanish Paper 1 scheduled for the pm session. It is highly recommended that it remains
an AM exam given the nature of the exam re: listening skills being assessed etc.
 Timetabling of Business Subjects – For about the third consecutive year, the core
                    Business subjects were timetabled back-to-back:
                                th

This was highly stressful for business students as many of them do at least 2 or even all 3
                    of these subjects.
