RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COUNCIL
Given the concerns that have been raised about the quality of e-marking an independent
verifier should be engaged to make an assessment of the e-marking process.
A request is being made for CXC to delay the implementation of the CAD only
requirement for CSEC Technical Drawing until the Ministry of Education is fully
equipped to offer the facility to students.
It is being requested that CXC gives the re-assurance that territories can continue with
paper based testing until they can arrive at the point to participate in e-testing.
CONCLUSION
CXC is being commended for the detailed report to the CXC National Committees for July 2017.
The information provided on syllabuses developments and decisions taken at the SUBSEC and
SEC meetings will assist the Ministry greatly in its planning. The Ministry of Education will
continue to work with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to meet the educational needs
of our students.
