                    All  secondary  school  teachers  were  invited  to  “Subject  Workshops”  on  23   August,
                       2017. These sessions were intended to: orient teachers to new and amended CXC CSEC
                       syllabuses; share best practices that have proved to be workable solutions to problems

                       encountered  by  pupils  and  teachers;  explore  some  methodologies  that  would  enhance
                       curriculum delivery and student learning.

                    A meeting with teachers of Agriculture Science was held on 29  August, 2017. The aim
                       of the session was to bring teachers together to review the changes presented in the new

                       syllabus.


               SUPPORT FOR CXC SYLLABUSES

               The Curriculum Development Unit over the past year has been monitoring the implementation
               and delivery of new and revised syllabi and continues to provide curriculum support to teachers.


               NATIONAL AWARDS CEREMONY

               The Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs with sponsorship
               from FLOW hosted the National Awards Ceremony for recognition and celebration of scholastic

               achievements in the May/June 2016 CXC-CSEC and the CPEA on 7  April, 2017.

               The  Ministry  of  Education  congratulates  all  students  and  extends  gratitude  to  the  Principals,
               teachers and staff at all schools for their support of the students.  We are cognizant of the fact

               that outcomes in education are measured, not only in quantitative terms, but also in qualitative
               terms; therefore, the value added to the lives of all of the students, the top performers as well as

               those  whose  performance  can  be  improved,  is  greatly  appreciated.  All  Principals  continue  to

               work  diligently  in  conjunction  with  the  Ministry  of  Education  in  support  of  their  schools’
               effectiveness and the students’ success.
