                                                    General Overview


               Hydropower  is  a  traditional  and  important

               source  of  alternative  energy.  Hydropower,

               also  referred  to  as  waterpower,  is  the
               electrical  energy  generated  from  falling  or

               running  water.  The  water  flowing  into  a

               hydraulic turbine is channelled to and drive a
