Christmas
I could hardly catch my breath from the many
hugs and kisses I got. My other cousins ran from
my aunts who were hugging the living daylight
out of them and were wiping off the lipstick from
their faces. Christmas had come early because of
the amount of treats and gifts that we received.
The women got changed and joined the other
women in the kitchen, as they retold old stories
while preparing the meal. The men went out on
the back porch as usual, never wanting to get
their hands dirty. They had the good old Vincy
Black Wine, the homemade Rum Punch along
with our locally brewed Hairoun Beer.
