FROM THE GOLD TEES From Marge Clark

Wow! So much and (so little) has happened since the March issue.
The golf staff has done a great job under difficult conditions so we could
continue to play but sadly, the after-golf socializing has been greatly
      curtailed.
We were thrilled to welcome three new members mid-season. Kellie
Williamson, Georgia Rae Martin, and Nancy McKnight have been great
      additions to our group.
Our last event before ‘social distancing’ was the wonderful Guest Day
organized by Nancy Stevens, Geri McMenamy, and Bonnie Stafford.
As always, everyone was a winner with Pro Shop credit for members and
      gift cards for guests.
1st - Kristi Massey & Guest Gayle Perkins with Sue Andrews & Guest
      Rose Lynch
Tied for 2nd - RuthAnn Keenan & Guest Shari Olson with Pat Sadler &

      Guest Sue Eck -and-
Linda Weaver & Guest ‘18er’ Patricia Clouser with
Georgia Martin & ‘Guest 18er’ Kim Walker
A future issue of the BriarWord will include all the winners of the Club
Championship and BriarCup which was held in April.
The Niners once again demonstrated their good hearts as well as their fun spirit. Over $9500 in cash and gift cards, as well
as food and fifty-five Christmas items for teens were donated by Club members. Many have dropped off items at the SCW
Thrift Store as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you, ladies!
The sign-up sheets for Tuesday-Thursday play will be posted in the locker room. A few also play on Saturdays. Join us if
your summer plans may have changed.
Remember it’s fine (and fun) to play nine!

      LADY PUTTERS From Linda Beard

Due to the Coronavirus, our putting season ended in early March. As it now
appears that more states are opening their golf courses, I hope that it gives many
of you a chance to practice putting again.
It was unfortunate that we were unable to have our Award Banquet in April.
I will have more information in September/October on plans to get together to
present birdie pins and money. Putting is tentatively scheduled to resume on
November 4. Dues payments will be collected in October.
We will be looking for a new Treasurer. Not a difficult job, however it does
require somebody who can attend most of the Wednesday putting days. If you
are interested, please contact Kathleen Bloechi at Kathleensue18@gmail.com.
Summer has arrived in Arizona with triple digit temperatures. For those of you
who have returned to your summer homes, I hope you find your temperatures
there a big milder. Above all, stay safe and stay healthy!
