                     November! 1942.
                     The village of Eagh Eayam, in the Birdoir area ia reported
               to have been completely looted on 3rd November by Murad All Murad*a
               gang*
                     On the 10th November two merchants were looted at Daaht-i-Dar
  :            and Qaleh-i-No, and robbed of Rials 20,000/- worth of goods.

                     On the 2nd November a caravan of 11 donkeys wa6 attacked
               about 12 miles south of Kerman on the road to Baft, In the fight
               one donkey man was killed.
                     On the 7th November seven armed Baluchies looted a village
              near Shahdad about 40 miles east of Kerman and took away about
              Rials 48,000/-, A pursuit party led by Ali Adhimi, consisting of
               2 Gendarmes and.10 others, caught up with the robbers and shot one.
              In the ensulngpL man was killed, Ali Adhimi was wounded, one of the
              Gendarmes was captured and rifle lost.
                     December, 1942.
                     On the 1st December a convoy of empty lorries going to Bandar
              Abbas v.as stopped by robbers near the Guhra pass. There were six
              Gendamcs in one of’the lorries of whom 3 were killed, two wounded
              end one ran away* Robbers secured all their rifles. Two women
              passengers were also v.’ounded.
                     On the 22nd December at about 7 A.M. Captain l£. Hassan,
              Consular Liaison officer., Kerman encountered a body of robbers, who
              covered hi/a, his Interpreter and servant with their rifles. Captain
              Hasson, with great presence of mind, got out of his car and went
              straight up to the leader Introducing himself as an officer of the
              Indian Army and advised them to escape as his escort was coming
              behind. The leader obeyed him and called off his men. A number of
              lorries coming behind escaped being plundered.
                    On the night of 25th December, Raj I Rashid a well-known
              figure of Sirjan, was murdered in his house with his servant* His
              property was looted and then burnt.

                    Reads
                    During the year unaer report the Royal Engineers of the 10th
              Army re-constructed the road from Zuhidan to Yezd. It is now easily
              possible to motor from Kerman to Zahldan in a day.
                    Iranian military engineers arc said to be working on two new
              military roads, one to link Iranshahr (Bampur} to Rudbar end the
              other from Rudbar to Jask.

                    The following further roads are said to be under construction,
              but progress is probably chiefly on paper i-
                    (1)  Kerman - Saidabad(Sirjan) - Baft (N*H.40,f/viJ - Isfanda-
             qeh Cg/vii) - Kahnu(N*G*-40,a/viil).
                    (2)  Kerman - Mahun - Ray in (N#H-40,e/vii) - Sabzavarar* (N*H-
             40*g/viiiJ- Kahnu. This road has been started from both ends but
             the difficult middle section across the “Jabel Bariz« between
             Rayin and Subzavaran has not yet been finished.
                    (3)  iranshahr (Bompur) (Mekran N*G-41,b,iiHlnguran (Bandar
             Abbas rr.G-40,c/viii;* There Is a good deal of sand between Kahnu
             and Anguran and the local inhabitant* have been given Rials 20,000/-
             to make a track across the sandy stretch anu to keep It open*
                     (4) Kahnu-Hinab(Bander Abbas N.G-40,b/vii}-Bandor Abbaa# It
             is possible to use this road with difficulty in a touring car except
             after rain*
                    Aviation.
