3. If, thereforo, Hio Hajesty*o Government are
to avoid a Bhare of the responsibility for any continuation
of the preoent intolerable abuses so fully exposod in
Colonel Trevor*o despatchj it is, in the Secretary of
State*s opinion, imperative that drastic action bo taken
t
in order to bring the Sheikh of Bahrein and fcio advisers
to a due sense of their responsibilities.
4. Lord Curzon earnestly trusts that Lord Pool
will share his views in the matter and will instruct the
Government of India with the least possible delay, to take
the necessary stops to exercise the strongest moral
prossui on the Sheikh, to bo followed if necessary by
forcible intervention.
