                              I am directed by the Marquees Curzon of Kedleston

                   to state that he entirely concurs in the views expressed by
              (?ltfM'^the government of India in their telegram No. 475 S of the
                    17th instant, enclosed in your letter P. 1443 of 18th April ^
                    regarding the urgent necessity for the adoption of ininediate

                    coercive measures, as suggested therein, to deal with the
                    situation in Bahrein.
                         2.   The Secretary of State, therefore, hopes that

                    Viscount Peel will authorise the government of India to take
                    the coerci,'° measures proposed in the telegram referred to
                  . above.
                         3.   A copy of this letter is being sent to the
                    Colonial Office.
