The orders of Government concerning the Chiefs of Bahrein, Guttnr, and
Abootlmboc, havo boon successfully carried out, and all demands bavo been
ncccdod to. Additional guarantees Iiuyo been takon for maintonanco of mari-
timo pcaco. The only forco used has been nguiust Mahomed bin IChalifok,
of Bahrein, who waded all terms by flight. The principal tnon declared him
tbo main instigator of past disturbances and piracies, und that his brother
and co-Chiefs should henceforth rulo ulono. Mahomed’s fort aud guns wero
destroyed and his war craft burnt. All olassos aro grateful to Government
for their present intorvontion. My thanks duo to Cnptniu Brown, Commanding
Vigilant, and to Hugh Rote, Sind, und Clyde for cordial co-operation. Work
and exposure severe, with thermometer over 100° in cabin ; but all hands well.
