the Customs and placed under the Finance Department from August

ment from Aqai Nemazi on the 29 th July and held charge to the end
of the year.
(d) Bank Mcllie Iran.
Aqai Seyed Ali Belaai held charge as manager of
the Bank throughout the year.
(e) Police.
Sarbahr Abdul Azira Khumarloo held charge of the
police Department throughout the year.
(f) justice.

Aqai Jalal-ud-Din Firooz took charge from Aqai
Zahidani on the lath February ana held the charge to the end
of the year.
(g) Health and Quarantine*
Dr. Ashraf Taba Tabai held charge as Health Officer
and Quarantine Medical Officer throughout the year. He has held
this office for the past 7 years.
(h) Post and Telegraph Office.
Aqai Bahman Farahmand held charge as Post Master
throughout the year. He has held this post for over 5 years.

(i) Education and Sndoronent Department.
Aqai Pezeshki held charge as head of the Depart­
ment throughout the year.
(j) Municipality.
No improvement of any importance was effected in
this year.

(k) Agriculture.
A party of Engineers consisting of Dr. A&aoojeh,
Engineer Samiee, Engineer Dushti, Engineer isfanaiari ana Mr.
Y&yda, said to be Hungarian and Chief of the irrigation Department
of the Ministry of Finance, Tehran, arrived from Tehran on 4th
February and left on 7th.
An anti-locust party of 7 Russians consisting of
four military officers, one civilian and 2 drivers arrived in
Bandar Abbas on 18th February and left for Sirjan on 21st. Another
anti-locust party of Russian consisting of SHARTOONESKI, OVLIYANI,
SHOUFER OBULENISKI and. one chauffeur arrived on 27th June and
left for Kerman on 28th.
(1) Industry and Development.
Khun.il Spinning Mill;

Between 150-200 men work in this mill. Night
shifts have been stopped owing to the shortage of raw cotton.
Fiah Canning Factory.
This factory workied on a limited scale at the
beginning of the year but soon closed down as their trawler was
confiscated by the Royal Navy in August, 1941 at Khorramshahr, and
the fieh supplied by the local fiohermon was not sufficient to run
the plant, preparations were being made to resume work at the end
of the year.
