                   Mr. Ward P. Andorson was the General Manager and
           Chief Local Representative of the Company throughout the
           yoar except for a brief poriod in tho latter half of the
           yoar when he paid a flying visit to tho United states of
           Amoiica and Mr. H.B. Nichols, an Assistant Vice President
           of the Company, acted as tho Chief Local Representative and

           General Manager.     It has been tho recent policy of tho Company
           to ensure that a member of tho directorate is present in
           Bahrain to obviato tho necessity as far a3 possible of conti­

           nual references to Now York for decisions oucsido the powers
           of tho General Manager.     Mr. Lloyd N. Hamilton tho Chairman
           of tho company remained in Bahrain until 1st of Juno while
           Mr. n.B. nichols was present from 2l3t Juno the middle of
           November, it boing understood that he would bo replaced before

           tho end of tho year by Mr. Don J. Hanna • one of the 'ice
           Presidents of tho Company.

                 Tho total oil production during 19-14 was 6,713,795 not

           barrels, an averago of 18,244 not barrols daily,       During the
           poriod January to Ootobor the rata of field production was held
           at a daily avorago of 18,000 not barrols but as a result of the
           rapid progress of the rehabilitation programme flold production

           was increased to 20,000 not barrels a day from tho lot of
           November and held at that rate until tho end of the year.
                 Luring the year a very large construction programme

           was undertaken to provide facilities for tho production of
           aviation spirit and to increase the quantities of othor products
           vital to tho successful prosecution of the war.       Certain
           phases of this programme had boon completed by tho end of the

           year, and tho construction of the refining itcua van proceeding
           rapidly with every indication that tho wor-ha would bo couplotcd
           early in 1043.
