I have gathered the following information with
regard to the present agitation inBahrain. to(U
After tnc departure of H.H.Shaikh' Sir Hamad to
Kashmir Yusuf Fakhroo called Muhsin al Tajir, Bayid Sni'd
bin Lnyid Knalf, Muhammad Ali al Tajir and Sayid Alimad
Alawi to his office and the question of the,appointment of
un heir-apparent to the Rulership of Bahrain was discussed.
Shaikh shlman bin Shaikh llnmad was also present.
After three days, they held a meeting in the gardei
of Shaikh Salman at Qudliaibiyah. Muhammad bin Yusuf bin
iiasir, an Arab of Muharraq and Abdul Latif al Mishari(now
dead) of Muharraq attended the meeting ana again the
question of heir-apparent and the reforms which they want
to be carried out in Balirain were discussed.
In the evening of the 3ame day the Bahrnna leaders,
namely, Mhhsin al Tajir and ~ayid Sai'u, Muhammad Ali al
Tajir and Sayid Ahnau A^uwi gathered in the house of Ilaji
Ahmeu bin Khnmis of Gunabis and discussed the question of
reforms in Bahrain. They decided that the following reforms
should be made in Bahrain
(i) Formation of a Legislative Committee.
(ii) Reforras in the Police.
(iii)Reform3 in the Bahrain Courts.
(iv;Dismisual of the present Inspector of Educatio
(^Dismissal of the two Qadhis.. Shaikh Ali bin
Hasan and Shaikh Ali bin’Ja'far, and,
(vi)Recognition of Shaikh Salman bin Hamad as an
heir-apparent.
They decided to write letters and get them signed
by the Bahamas of the villages. Shaikh Ahmad bin Khamia
of Sanabis did not agree to the diomisual of the 2 Qadhis
(vide (v) above) as they exercised great influonoe over
inhabitants of the villages. When the two Qadhis heard.
